In a significant crackdown on the terror ecosystem, Reasi Police has attached the immovable properties of five Pakistan-based terror handlers during the investigation of FIR No. 70/2024 registered at Police Station Mahore under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), and the E&IMCO Act.

The attachment proceedings were carried out by a police team led by SDPO Mahore, Parul Bhardwaj (JKPS) along with the SHO, Police Station Mahore, in the presence of the Executive Magistrate, Mahore, and local witnesses.

Properties Attached
The following immovable properties, identified during the investigation as assets allegedly intended to facilitate and finance terrorist activities, have been attached:

Alaf Din, S/o Mir Baz @ Mir Baj, R/o Shajroo, Tehsil Mahore – 07 Kanals of land.

Ghulam Mohd @ Gamma, S/o Mohd Yousaf, R/o Shajroo, Mahore – 10 Kanals 11 Marlas of land.

Mohd Asraf, S/o Ab Karim, R/o Chakrass (Mulass), Mahore – 17 Marlas of land.

Shabir Ahmad, S/o Mohd Yousaf, R/o Chakrass (Jamsalan), Mahore – 07 Kanals 03 Marlas of land.

Bahar Din, S/o Abdul Sattar Chopan, R/o Sildhar – 08 Kanals 01 Marla of land.

According to the police, the investigation established that the accused had allegedly exfiltrated to Pakistan for terrorist training and are currently operating as terror handlers from across the border. They are accused of promoting, facilitating, and coordinating terrorist activities.

The investigation further revealed that the attached properties were allegedly liable to be alienated, with the proceeds intended to finance and sustain terrorist operations.

Following these findings and after obtaining the requisite approval from Police Headquarters, J&K, Reasi Police attached the properties under the relevant provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, to prevent their misuse for terror financing.

Police stated that the action reflects the force’s commitment to dismantling the financial infrastructure supporting terrorism. By targeting assets linked to terror operatives, the objective is to disrupt terror financing networks and deny anti-national elements the resources required to sustain their activities.

Reasi Police reiterated its commitment to combating terrorism through stringent legal action while ensuring lasting peace, security, and public safety across the district.
