REASI, SEPTEMBER 28: District Development Commissioner Reasi Kumar Abhishek today flagged off an Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Campaign Van from the Conference Hall of the DC Office, Reasi, to spread awareness among rural communities about the upcoming Gram Sabha under the VB-G RAM G initiative.

The campaign aims to sensitise villagers about the scheme, participatory planning, employment generation, improved livelihoods and the important role of Gram Sabhas in identifying local development priorities.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC Reasi Kumar Abhishek said that the IEC van would create awareness about the VB-GRAM-G employment scheme and the Viksit Gram Panchayat Plan (VGPP).
He informed that a Mahapanchayat will be organised in every Panchayat on October 2, where people will be sensitised about the scheme and the 375 permissible categories of works.
The DDC urged people to actively participate in the Mahapanchayats and visit their respective Gram Panchayats to put forward their genuine requirements. He emphasised that the Viksit Gram Panchayat Plans should be prepared in a participatory and demand-driven manner, reflecting the actual needs and aspirations of local communities.

He further said that the awareness campaign would help villagers understand the permissible works under the scheme and enable Panchayats to identify development priorities based on local requirements.
Additional District Development Commissioner Krishna Lal, Chief Planning Officer Narinder Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Development Mukesh Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Panchayats, District Information Officer, Block Development Officers and other officers and officials were present on the occasion.
