Reasi, May 6, 2026: Reasi Police intensified its Abhiyan against drug abuse under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, achieving a significant breakthrough in Katra town.

During routine patrolling and frisking near Ambika Chowk, a suspicious individual moving from Udhampur towards Katra was intercepted by the naka party at around 2:00 PM. The suspect was stopped for verification based on his unusual movement.

On questioning, the individual identified himself as Vicky Kumar, son of Sanjay Kumar, a resident of Suketar, Tehsil Dansal. A thorough search of his black bag led to the recovery of 300 capsules of Pregabalin.

The accused was immediately detained on the spot, and legal proceedings were initiated. The concerned Drug Inspector has also been informed to take further action under relevant laws.

The operation was conducted by SHO Police Station Katra, Inspector Ranjeet Singh Rao, under the supervision of SDPO Katra Dr. Bhishm Dubey (JKPS) and SP Katra Sh. Kameshwar Puri (JKPS).

Reasi Police reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating drug abuse and appealed to the public to share information about drug-related activities to help build a drug-free society.
